It is not medical advice. If you or your child are sick, please see a doctor — visit a free clinic or call 911 in an emergency.
Common Cold
A mild viral infection of the nose and throat. Most colds get better in 7–10 days with rest and fluids.
Influenza (Flu)
A respiratory virus that causes fever, body aches, and cough. The yearly flu vaccine is the best prevention.
Hepatitis
Inflammation of the liver, caused by viruses (A, B, C, D, E) or other factors. Vaccines exist for hepatitis A and B.
Malaria
A serious illness caused by a mosquito-borne parasite. Prevention includes nets, repellent, and preventive medication.
